"From the Sea" is the first single by Australian rock band Eskimo Joe, taken from their second studio album, A Song Is a City. Nicholas "Nick" Paul Barker is an Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist who formed a rock, power pop band, Nick Barker & the Reptiles, in March 1988. Their cover version of Cockney Rebel's "Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me)" reached the top 30 on the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) Singles Chart in November 1989. They provided two top 40 albums on the related ARIA Albums Chart, Goin' to Pieces (1989) and After the Show (1991). He formed another group, Barker, in 1993, and their single, "Time Bomb", was listed at No. 20 on Triple J Hottest 100 for 1994. Barker then went solo from 1995.

The Killjoys were an Australian pop, folk band formed in 1987. The mainstay members were Anna Burley on lead vocals and guitar and Craig Pilkington on lead guitar and vocals. They attracted a wide following in the vibrant pub scene. Their debut album, Ruby (October 1990), won Best Independent Release at the ARIA Music Awards of 1991.

Dog Trumpet or Reg & Peter's Dog Trumpet is an Australian rock band, formed by brothers Reg Mombassa (aka Chris O'Doherty) and Peter O'Doherty. Both Mombassa and O'Doherty were formerly members of the iconic Australian band Mental as Anything, and they formed Dog Trumpet as an outlet for their original material. The Dog Trumpet sound reflects a sincere affection for classic 1960s pop and whimsical psychedelia. "Suitcase" was released as a single on TWA Records in 1996.

The Spazzys are an all-girl punk band formed in 2000 in Melbourne, Australia. They received strong support from Melbourne community radio station 3RRR, before being picked up by popular youth radio station Triple J. They released their debut album Aloha! Go Bananas! in 2004, with singles Paco Doesn't Love Me, Hey Hey Baby and My Boyfriend's Back all charting. They are a constant in the live music scene in Melbourne and have toured nationally several times, often playing festivals such as the Big Day Out. They have also supported international acts like Blondie and The Hives.
